Employer Partner FAQ

How Can My Organization Get Involved?

In this pilot project, employer partners can contribute “time, talent and treasure” to help support the development of curriculum, mentoring and employer field experiences to ensure its success.  Employers can elect to contribute financially, offer professional instruction for courses and/or mentoring, and participate as an employer site for job shadowing and other career exploration and development.

How do we sign up?

Complete the online Employer Partner Agreement to note the way(s) your organization would like to get involved.

What is the time commitment for Employer Partners?

This depends on the ways you plan to partner.  For organizations that wish to offer onsite field experiences and job shadowing, there would be two courses they would participate in and time onsite when students sign up for experiences at their worksite.  Meetings will occur one Wednesday evening per month with periodic outreach to mentees via text, email or phone. To ensure that time frames work, mentors receive a schedule in advance of being matched to students. If you have an hour or so available one Wednesday evening per month, this could be a perfect fit!

How will we prepare for our role(s) as an Employer Partner?

The YSA program officials will gather all employer partners to provide an orientation.  We’ll provide support and education during an Employer Orientation, and along the way.
